Los astronautas de la mision STS-117 del shuttle Atlantis, terminaron la cuarta caminata espacial cambiando el aspecto de la Estacion espacial.El shuttle Atlantis que despego desde el Centro Espacial Kennedy en Florida el 8 de junio pasado, llevo a la ISS una nueva seccion la estructura, los segmentos S3/S4 que incluyen un nuevo par de gigantescos paneles solares y sus correspondiente electronica y mecanismos de rotacion y orientacion. Los que fueron instalados y activados durante las cuatro caminatas espaciales que realizaron los tripulantes del orbitador.
Ademas de intalar las nuevas estructuras, los astronautas ayudaron en el repliegue de los antiguos paneles solares de la estructura P6-B2 y realizaron varias otras tareas menores en el exterior de laestacion.
El Atlantis posiblemente se separara de la Estacion el proximo martes, si los computadores de la parte rusa de la estacion prueban estar completamente funcionales, de lo contrario el shuttle podria pasar acoplado a la ISS un dia mas.
